Finally the mystery surrounding the recovery of a married woman’s dead body from Kali Bazar area of Bamutia under Lefunga police station has been resolved with the husband of the wife surrendering to Lefunga police station and confessing that he himself had strangled his wife to death . The murder case has also been reconstructed by police with the killer husband showing how he had strangled his wife to death.

Sources from Bamutia said that on July 10 the SDPO (Mohanpur) Sabyasachi Debnath, officer in charge of Lefunga police station Sahadeb Das , followed by a police force , had recovered the dead body of Gopa Bhil (35) from within her home near Kali Bazar Anganwadi centre in Bamutia under Lefunga police station and sent the body for post-mortem in Mohanpur hospital. Even as effort was on to nab the suspected murderer, the slain woman’s husband Biswajit Biswas (37), an icecream seller by profession, appeared in the Lefunga police station yesterday in the afternoon and surrendered to police authority. He confessed to the officer in charge Sahadeb Das that he had strangled his wife Gopal Bhil with his hands. In his confession Biswajit also said that he had been fed up with his wife’s daily demand for money for buying alcohol and on July 10 he had lost all patience as he had no sparable money for the purchase and his wife had become more abusive than usual .

A police party led by DFPO (Mohanpur) Sabyasachi Debnath, OC Sahadeb Das of Lefunga police station, second officer Sudip Jamatya and inquiry officer Ajit Jamatya today took murderer Biswajit Biswas to his home in Kali Bazar Anganwadi centre and reconstructed the murder scene with Biswajit showing how exactly he had done his wife to death by stragling. Now the police will file charge-sheet in the court against the killer husband Biswajit Biswas . Sources from Kali Bazar said that Biswajit’s wife Gopa Bhil had once been a seller of countrymade liquor and it was during visits of Biswajit to her den that both had fallen in love and had finally married but the marriage met bloody end.
