Irresponsible contractor cuts off both electric feeders connected to tripurainfo.com office , exam disrupted

The power department or the TSECL seem to have completely abdicated its responsibility for maintenance and care of assets to half-educated and corrupt contractors obsessed with easy profit making at any cost. This has come to light quite sharply this morning in the Lichu Bagan area of the state capital. An obscure and ignoramus contractor Tapan Debnath is on contract to set up dividers on the VIP road from airport to Agartala town across Lichu Bagan area.

In the absence of any site engineer from smart city project, representative from TSECL or PWD the labourers acting upon instruction of the contractor Tapan Debnath cut off the connections of the two power feeders at Lichu Bagan and near High Court , completely disrupting power supply in the entire area including the head office of Tripurainfo.com where an important recruitment exam of the government is on and hundreds of students are taking the exam. Even though inverter support is helping students type their answers on computers , how long the support will continue and whether the students will be able to complete their answers is uncertain. The TSECL workers arrived on the spot and informed the Tripurainfo.com a authority that two feeders at Lichu Bagan area and near High Court have been cut off by the contractor’s workers.

The restoration of power supply is therefore uncertain within a reasonable time. It is known that representatives of TSECL, PWD or smart city project never remain present on sites of sensitive work like this despite the threat of damage to power lines, feeders, telephone cables and water supply connections also. This total lack of co-ordination and lack of care on the part of the government departments result in such disruptions as has happened today in Lichu Bagan area but the government departments remain totally apathetic.
