According to procedures laid down in the newly introduced Bharatiya Nyaya Samhita (BNS) social media activists now can not enjoy a free run by maligning people through tongue or type lashing. Former social media commentator, ill-reputed Saikat Talapatra has been rotting in jail over the past two years after his derogatory commentaries against and defamation of all top political personalities of the state including the chief minister. He was arrested from Calcutta and is now being incarcerated in Prabhuram Pur in Bishalgarh . Recently the state youth Congress president Shahjahan Islam has gone into hiding in the face of adverse consequences of his defamatory comment in social media on the chief minister Dr Manik Saha. His father and brother are in still in jail even though Shahjahan is in hiding .

Careless of how the law has taken its course , a woman from the Rajnagar area of Udaipur subdivision , Johara Begum took to social media handle and passed highly derogatory comment on the minister for power and agriculture and seven-time MLA from Mohanpur constituency Ratan Lal Nath . There was a mass outrage in Mohanpur shortly after Johara Begum’s defamatory social media comment surfaced . A large group of men and women , indignant over the derogatory comment on their elected representative have filed a FIR against Johara Begum with the Sidhai police station and the police has reportedly forwarded the FIR to R.K.Pur police station in Udaipur for acting upon it. Sources said that Johara Begum would be arrested soon and proceeded against in the court of law.
