Rail connectivity to Tripura has been severely affected following a major landslide between Mupa and Dihakho stations in the Lumding–Badarpur hill section of Assam. The incident occurred on Monday morning, leading to disruption of train operations along this vital corridor that connects Tripura and other northeastern states with the rest of the country.

Officials from Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) confirmed that train movement has been suspended on the affected stretch until the debris, comprising large boulders and loose earth, is cleared. Restoration work is underway, but as of now, several trains to and from Tripura have been cancelled, partially cancelled, rescheduled, or regulated.

Among the key trains cancelled are the Agartala-bound 12501 Kolkata–Agartala Express of 6 July, which was short-terminated at Guwahati, and will not run between Guwahati and Agartala. Similarly, the 20501 Agartala–Anand Vihar Terminal Tejas Express of 7 July has been rescheduled to depart at 6:00 am on 8 July instead of its original timing.

The 12503 SMVT Bengaluru–Agartala Express of 4 July is among the trains that will be regulated, along with the 13173 Sealdah–Sabroom Kanchanjunga Express and the 01666 Agartala–Rani Kamalapati Special, all of which are important for long-distance connectivity from Tripura.

In addition, the 15616 Silchar–Guwahati Express of 7 July will run only up to Badarpur, and the 12513 Secunderabad–Silchar Express of 5 July will terminate at Guwahati.

Help desks have been set up at key stations including Agartala, Silchar, Badarpur, Lumding, and Guwahati to assist affected passengers. NFR has urged travellers to check train status before proceeding to stations and to stay updated through their official social media handles @RailNf on Twitter and @NFRailway on Facebook.
