A high-intensity counter-terrorism drill was conducted at the Tripura Civil Secretariat on Thursday evening, simulating a coordinated response to a potential terror attack.
The exercise involved joint participation from the Indian Army, Assam Rifles, Tripura Police, Tripura State Rifles (TSR), and specialised bomb disposal and dog squads. Security personnel swiftly sealed the complex and carried out a mock operation to neutralise a simulated terror threat.
A key highlight was the staged hostage rescue from inside the Secretariat, executed with precision by armed teams while K9 units and the bomb squad swept for potential explosives.
The drill tested inter-agency coordination, rapid response, and crisis communication. Officials said the simulation aimed to enhance preparedness and ensure that in the event of a real threat, response teams can act decisively to protect vital infrastructure and civilian lives.
