In a significant boost to Tripura’s religious and cultural tourism, the state is all set to witness the foundation laying ceremony for a grand replica of the 51 Shakti Peeths in Bandoyar, Udaipur on July 10, 2025. The project, a brainchild of the Department of Tourism, Government of Tripura, is poised to become a landmark destination for devotees and tourists alike.

The Chief Minister of Tripura, Professor (Dr.) Manik Saha, will be present at the Bhoomi Pujan ceremony, marking the official commencement of construction work for this iconic religious project.

This replica complex will authentically depict all 51 sacred Shakti Peeths as described in Hindu scriptures, creating a spiritual hub right in the heart of Tripura. The initiative aims to attract pilgrims from across India and abroad, transforming the religious landscape of the state.

To support this ambitious endeavor, the Central Government has sanctioned Rs. 97.70 crore for the project. The funds will be utilized to develop state-of-the-art temple replicas, landscaping, infrastructure, visitor amenities, and related tourism facilities.

Located in Bandoyar, Udaipur, a region already renowned for the historic Tripureswari Temple, one of the original 51 Shakti Peeths, this new development will significantly enhance the spiritual significance and tourist footfall in the Gomati district.

According to officials, the project is expected to not only promote religious and cultural tourism but also generate employment opportunities and contribute to the economic development of the region.

This unique initiative is being hailed as a historic addition to Tripura’s tourism map, and it is expected to open a new chapter in showcasing the state's cultural heritage to the world.
