Total lawlessness in Bishalgarh, serial theft in ‘Kaali’ temple and midday meal kitchen of school, furore and fear

During the past seven years Bishalgarh subdivisional town and its outlying areas up to the border with Bangladesh in the west have emerged as a major hub of crimes of all sorts including theft, dacoity, drug peddling and smuggling . But the most recent addition to the crime chart is the theft in a Hindu religious place-temple of Goddess ‘Kaali’ in Baidya Dighi area of Bishalgarh. Long known as the ‘Shakti Mata Sangha Kaali temple’, this hallowed religious place has been centre of worship by the Hindu devotees of all classes and categories .

But what happened last night has anguished the Hindu residents of Bishalgarh no end as a gang of thieves broke through the front gate of the temple and stole money from the donation box by breaking it open. Sources from Bishalgarh said that the exact amount of money stolen from the donation box is not yet clear but it was almost full of cash donations to the temple in the name of the mother Goddess. The theft came to light this morning and hundreds of people rushed to the temple premise and grieved over the issue . They have filed a complaint with Bishalgarh police station and demanded that the donation money be recovered early and the guilty punished.

In yet another theft a gang of thieves broke into the midday meal kitchen room of the PM Shri Baidya Dighi HS school last night and took away all utensils, vegetables including boxes of soyabean, spices, eggs and rice. The cost of the materials taken away is yet to be estimated. Early this morning the teachers of morning section attached to the school saw the door of the midday meal kitchen open and found tell tale signs of the theft. After being informed the local Panchayat chief and BJP “Mandal’ chief reached the school and arranged to have a complaint filed with the Bishalgarh police station. The teachers as well as the BJP functionaries requested the police to investigate the matter seriously and recover the stolen items besides arresting the culprits.
