Congress and Communists are equally harmful: Biplab Deb

Former Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb equated the Congress and Communists so far, depriving people of their legitimate rights are concern and urged them to reject both of them. He was addressing a seminar organised by the Sadar District Committee of the BJP at Najrul Kala Kshetra on Saturday.

He accused the former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi of imposing the Emergency in 1975 only to save her power. He said she ignored the constitution and imposed an emergency after discussing her son. Similarly, he said, the Communists who ruled the state for 35 years deprived the people of their rights.

The seminar was organised in the wake of 50 years of emergency. Deb said that Indira Gandhi ignored the constitutional obligations, and people were harassed like anything. Similar as the role of the Communists. He said the BJP gave people relief from such atrocities. Now both the evil forces are uniting to grab power again and have warned people to remain alert about their ill design.
