COVID-19 has once again made its presence felt in Tripura, this time at the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya located in Takarjala under Sepahijala district. A total of 11 students have tested positive for the virus, though all of them are reportedly in good health and have been sent home for precautionary home isolation.

The news surfaced on Saturday afternoon through school sources. District Magistrate of Sepahijala, Siddharth Shiv Jaiswal, confirmed the incident over phone to a Tripura Info correspondent. He clarified that there is no need to panic and the situation is completely under control.

According to the District Magistrate, the incident actually dates back about a week. The school authorities first noticed symptoms like fever in some students who had recently returned traveling from other states. Upon testing their blood samples, 11 of them were found COVID-positive.

Principal Pradeep Kumar acted swiftly and sent all the affected students home for isolation. The remaining students were also tested, and their results have come back negative.

DM Jaiswal, who is also the Chairman of the school management, stated that there is no cause for fear. Regular sanitization of the entire school premises is being conducted as a preventive measure. He also urged parents not to worry, reassuring that all necessary precautions have been taken.
