ADG BSF Eastern Command Reviews Border Security During Tripura Visit

Mahesh Kumar Aggarwal, IPS, Additional Director General (ADG) of the Border Security Force (BSF) Eastern Command, Kolkata, is currently on a four-day visit to Tripura to assess the security preparedness along the international border.

Accompanied by Ashwani Kumar Sharma, Inspector General (IG), BSF Tripura, the ADG visited several Border Out Posts (BOPs) situated across the districts of West Tripura, Sepahijala, South Tripura, Gomati, and Dhalai. During his visit, Shri Aggarwal interacted with BSF jawans and field commanders, reviewed operational preparedness, and took stock of the overall security scenario along the Indo-Bangladesh border in Tripura.

On 27th June, the ADG addressed a Sainik Sammelan at the BSF Frontier Headquarters in Salbagan, Agartala. In his address, he commended the dedication and tireless service of BSF personnel in securing the borders under challenging conditions. He also underscored the significance of maintaining good health, physical fitness, and strict discipline in the life of a soldier.

As part of his official engagements, the ADG paid courtesy visits to several dignitaries of the state. He met with the Hon’ble Governor of Tripura, Shri Indrasena Reddy Nallu, and the Hon’ble Chief Minister, Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha. Shri Aggarwal also held meetings with the Chief Secretary of Tripura, Shri J. K. Sinha, IAS, and the Director General of Police, Shri Anurag, IPS. The discussions focused on strengthening coordination for efficient border management and addressing operational and administrative concerns.

The visit of the ADG BSF Eastern Command is expected to boost the morale of the troops and further enhance the operational efficiency of the BSF in Tripura.
