KVK-Khowai Wins Best KVK Award 2024–25 for Tripura State

In a moment of pride for the state, Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Khowai has been awarded the prestigious Best KVK Award for 2024–25 for Tripura State. The award was conferred by ICAR – Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute (ATARI), Zone VII, Umiam, Meghalaya, during its IX Foundation Day Celebration held on 24th June 2025.

The recognition ceremony was graced by notable dignitaries including the Agriculture Minister, Government of Meghalaya, Dr. Ampareen Lyngdoh, Dr. B.C. Deka, Vice Chancellor, AAU, Jorhat, and Dr. AK Mohanty, Director, ICAR-ATARI, Meghalaya.

KVK-Khowai was honored for its outstanding performance and exemplary contribution in promoting location-specific, innovative agricultural technologies and providing impactful extension services to the farming community of Khowai district. The award citation highlighted KVK-Khowai’s success in setting new benchmarks in the state through its scientific service and innovations.

Noteworthy achievements include publication of research articles in national and international journals, patents on plant genetic resources, and registration of plant varieties with PPV & FRA and the National Bureau of Plant Genetic Resources. KVK-Khowai has also implemented several government projects such as Integrated Seed Production Villages, Climate Smart Village, and Oil Seeds Model Village.

With this recognition, KVK-Khowai has added another milestone by winning the Best KVK Award from ICAR, ATARI Zone, Umiam, Meghalaya, marking a proud moment for Tripura’s agricultural advancement.
