Tipra Motha leader and Tripura Minister Animesh Debbarma has urged Bengalis in the state to remember the hardships they faced during their migration from Bangladesh, emphasizing that no one leaves their homeland without serious cause. Addressing a public gathering in Sabroom, he warned that continued illegal immigration from Bangladesh poses a severe threat to Tripura’s identity and future.

"Never forget the persecution that forced you to flee Bangladesh," Debbarma said, stressing the need to detect and deport illegal immigrants to prevent an "existential crisis." A mass deputation was also submitted demanding state-wide action against illegal migrants.

Responding to allegations of corruption from CPIM leader Prabhat Chaudhury, Debbarma dismissed them with sarcasm, saying the former MLA needed an eye checkup.

Asserting Tipra Motha’s commitment to the people, Debbarma said, "I may not be a minister forever, but I will always live in this state. We must fight to protect Tripura." He urged citizens not to show leniency towards illegal immigrants, blaming them for rising land prices, inflation, and rural distress. “They must be dealt with firmly so they never dare to return,” he concluded.
