For the tenth time in past seven years a large group of BJP workers vandalised the CPI (M) divisional committee office in Bishalgarh and ransacked the local committee office in Koroimura area west of Bishalgarh. As many as 15/16 motor bikes belonging to CPI (M) workers were broken and their petrol tanks looted by the BJP miscreants in front of police personnel who turned a blind eye to the mayhem caused by the BJP hooligans.

Giving details sources from Bishalgarh said that as part of an all India programme called by five leftist parties to show solidarity with the people of Palestine a procession was scheduled to be held in Bishalgarh also from 2-00 in the afternoon with permission obtained in advance from police. But since weather condition was not suitable the CPI (M) leadership in Bishalgarh decided to hold a meeting in front of the party office in Office Tilla area of Bishalgarh. The meeting began with leader Pradesh Roy as president but as soon as the senior leader Siddiqur Rahaman started addressing the gathering a large gang of BJP miscreants started attacking the meeting . Even as the party leadership took shelter inside the party office the BJP miscreants, armed with bricks, rods, clubs etc scaled the boundary wall of the office and resorted to heavy brickbatting that inflicted injuries on at least five CPI (M) workers. Even as the BJP miscreants broke 15/16 motor bikes parked outside the party office and looted the petrol stored in tankers attached to them the police remained completely inert . After creating mayhem for close to two hours and having subverted the CPI (M)’s programme the BJP miscreants dispersed from the front side of the CPI (M) office.

In a separate but similar incident another gang of BJP miscreants vandalised the CPI (M) local committee office in Koroimura west of Bishalgarh town and ransacked the residence of party’s local committee secretary Mosharaff Hossain. Even though Mosharaff was not at home his family members were forced to flee home to save their lives but all the furnitures in the house including materials and commodities purchased recently in connection with the marriage ceremony of Mosharaff’s son next week were broken and destroyed. Sources said that the local committee office had been set afire and demolished with a JCB machine by local BJP workers and supporters on September 8 2021 but it was rebuilt by local CPI (M) men and women with their own money and labour. The CPI (M) state secretariat have condemned the attacks on the party offices in Bishalgarh and Koroimura and ransacking of Mosharaff Hossain’s house by the BJP and demanded urgent police action against the culprits involved in the attacks and acts of vandalisation.
