In a significant step towards strengthening grassroots governance and public participation, Dr. Vishal Kumar, District Magistrate & Collector of West Tripura, formally launched the ‘Dharti Aaba Janbhagidari Abhiyan’ today at 4 PM during a press meet held in the Conference Hall of the DM & Collector’s Office, Agartala.

The campaign aims to enhance citizen involvement in development activities and ensure the effective delivery of government services. Dr. Kumar explained that under the initiative, local communities will be actively engaged in identifying and resolving issues related to education, health, roads, drinking water, and other civic amenities.

The launch of the campaign coincides with the district administration's plan to organize a fortnight-long series of administrative camps in 45 locations across West Tripura. These camps, beginning tomorrow, will facilitate the on-the-spot delivery of Aadhaar cards, caste certificates, income certificates, residential documents, and more, ensuring direct access to essential government services.

Speaking to the media, Dr. Kumar highlighted the core message of the Abhiyan — “Janbhagidari” or people’s participation and emphasized that community feedback will guide administrative action. "We are committed to addressing local problems without delay. Financial constraints will not be a barrier, as both state and central governments have assured special financial support for the mission,” he added.

The press conference was attended by senior officials of the district administration, media representatives, and civil society stakeholders. The Dharti Aaba Janbhagidari Abhiyan is expected to bring a transformative shift in the governance model by making citizens key stakeholders in development and service delivery.
