Bangladeshi national and human trafficker nabbed

In two separate operations based on secret inputs, the Government Railway Police (GRP), Railway Protection Force (RPF), and intelligence officials detained one Bangladeshi national and arrested a suspected human trafficker on Tuesday.
In the first case, a Bangladeshi citizen identified as Pranjit Ray (35), a resident of Sylhet district in Bangladesh, was apprehended from Agartala Railway Station on Wednesday evening. Authorities revealed that he had illegally entered India from Bangladesh and was planning to board a train to another state, with Delhi as his intended destination. He was intercepted by joint forces of the Agartala GRP, RPF, and intelligence department. Following preliminary interrogation, legal proceedings have been initiated, and he is going to be produced before the court on Thursday .
In a separate development later in the day, the Agartala GRP, with assistance from the BSF and Sidhai police station, arrested a suspected human trafficker linked to an under investigation case. The accused has been identified as Debashish Malakar alias Dev or Brishti (34), son of late Ratan Malakar, a resident of Bamutia Chanipur under Sidhai police station, West Tripura. He is currently under interrogation by a special team of GRP unit.
Sources indicate that more arrests may follow in connection with the case. Debashish Malakar has also been produced before the court with a prayer for five-day police remand.
