Youth Congress Leader Md Sahajan Islam Attacked by Alleged BJP Goons in CM’s Locality, Congress Condemns

In a shocking incident late tonight, the residence of Youth Congress leader Md Sahajan Islam, located in the locality of Shantipara area near the Tripura Chief Ministers old residence, was allegedly attacked by a group of BJP-backed miscreants. According to local sources, the attackers physically assaulted Sahajan’s elderly father and vandalized their home.

The attack is believed to be linked to recent social media posts by Md Sahajan Islam, in which he strongly criticized the Chief Minister and some of the state minorities leaders for their silence over a series of communal attacks on members of the Muslim community in Agartala and Udaipur over the past two days. These incidents were reportedly triggered by sacrificial practices during Eid celebrations.

The Congress party has strongly condemned the attack, calling it a grave assault on democratic rights and questioning the state of law and order in Tripura. "Is it a crime now to criticize the government?" asked one Congress spokesperson, demanding immediate action and accountability.

Meanwhile, a delegation from the Minority Congress in Udaipur subdivision met with the Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) today to register their protest and demand the arrest of those responsible for the attacks related to Eid sacrifices.

Citizens and opposition leaders alike are now questioning how long the people of Tripura must endure such unchecked violence and targeted intimidation.
