EC conducts training for BLOs and Supervisors

The Elections Department of Tripura organized an extensive training session for Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and BLO Supervisors at Pragna Bhavan, Agartala on Friday, as part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen grassroots electoral management.
The programme, held under the directives of the Election Commission of India, is aimed at enhancing the operational efficiency of BLOs and Supervisors responsible for maintaining polling station records and managing voter services across the state.
Speaking on the training programme, Additional Chief Electoral Officer of Tripura Uasha Jen Mog said that the goal is to ensure comprehensive training for all BLOs and Supervisors engaged in managing Tripura’s 3,352 polling stations.
“Friday’s session included around 85 participants from the Mohanpur, Sadar, and Jirania subdivisions of West Tripura district,” said the senior official.
According to him, the training focused on core responsibilities such as door-to-door verification, updating electoral rolls, and ensuring smooth execution of addition, deletion, and correction of voter information. These activities are vital for maintaining accurate and inclusive electoral rolls.
“To achieve statewide coverage, monthly training camps will be conducted in a phased manner Equipping BLOs and Supervisors with proper knowledge is essential for ensuring a seamless and transparent electoral process,” he added.
Chief Electoral Officer Brijesh Pandey addressed the training session among other senior officials. The officials had been imparted training on what key issues are required to be taken care of while revision of the electoral rolls.
