A ten-member delegation from the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (ADC), led by Tipra Motha supremo and MDC Pradyot Kishore Debbarma, has sparked major controversy after embarking on a TTAADC-funded trip to London, despite the ADC's ongoing administrative and financial failures.

Sources revealed that the team which includes MLA Paul Dangshu, the ADC’s Law Secretary, and a group of tribal artists

departed for London on May 27 to participate in the India Heritage Week. All members of the delegation are tribal representatives.

The trip has drawn sharp criticism as it comes at a time when the ADC has failed to provide pensions to over 300 retired employees for the past three years. Moreover, over 300 schools under the ADC continue to operate with only one teacher each, and thousands of vacancies in the council remain unfilled. Developmental activities in the ADC areas have virtually collapsed, causing widespread public resentment.

While the ADC is currently controlled entirely by Tipra Motha with no opposition representation, even BJP members within the council have expressed anger over what they call an irresponsible use of government funds for foreign luxury travel.

The lavish foreign visit, funded from the state exchequer, stands in stark contrast to the dire condition of essential services under the ADC, further fueling criticism about misplaced priorities and neglect of tribal welfare.
