Tripura University Scholar Honoured as NPTEL Motivated Learner

Kiran Bhowmik, a dedicated Ph.D. scholar from the Department of Economics at Tripura University (A Central University), has brought laurels to the institution by being honoured as an NPTEL Motivated Learner. This prestigious recognition was awarded for his outstanding academic engagement with the National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL).

Bhowmik has successfully completed eight high-level certificate courses conducted by premier institutes such as IIT Madras and IIT Roorkee, showcasing a strong commitment to advanced learning and research. His certifications include: Project Management, Introduction to Econometrics, Environment & Resource Economics, Labour Economics: Theory and Practice. Applied conometrics, Exploring Survey Data on Health Care, Handling Large-Scale Unit Level Data, Econometric Modelling.

Launched in 2003, NPTEL is a collaborative initiative by the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), under the aegis of the Ministry of Education, Government of India. With over 600 online courses offered each semester across 22 disciplines, the platform aims to democratize quality education and enhance learning opportunities nationwide.

In expressing his gratitude, Bhowmik credited Prof. Subir Kumar Sen of Tripura University as his primary mentor and source of inspiration. He also extended special thanks to Prof. Sabuj Kumar Mandal (IIT Madras) and Prof. Pratap Chandra Mohanty (IIT Roorkee) for their impactful and engaging teaching approaches.

His recognition as an NPTEL Motivated Learner is not only a personal achievement but also a testament to the growing influence of digital education platforms in fostering academic excellence and promoting lifelong learning in Tripura and across India.
