Baby Feeding Room Inaugurated at West Tripura District Magistrate’s Office

In a modest yet significant ceremony held on Monday, an advanced baby feeding room was officially inaugurated at the office of the District Magistrate of West Tripura. The facility was unveiled through a plaque dedication and ribbon-cutting event.

Present at the occasion were West Tripura District Magistrate Dr. Vishal Kumar, Additional District Magistrates Megha Jain and Sajal Das, Assistant Collector Deepika Gautam, architect Abhijit Das, along with other officials and women staff members.

The initiative comes in response to the challenges faced by women visiting the DM’s office for Aadhaar-related and other official work while accompanied by infants. The lack of a proper space for breastfeeding had long been an issue. Understanding this concern, DM Dr. Vishal Kumar took the initiative to set up a well-equipped and comfortable baby feeding room.

The newly inaugurated room includes essential amenities such as a bed, wash basin, stools, and a table—ensuring a hygienic and private space for mothers to breastfeed or feed their children.

Officials noted that the facility aims to support mothers visiting the office with young children, ensuring they are not inconvenienced while attending to official work.
