Hundreds of students of 32 colleges under TCU to lose an academic session because of irresponsibility of the TCU authority

That the Tripura Central University has emerged as an Augean stable of corruption , nepotism and perfidy of all kinds is well known to every body but the corrupt-to-the-bone TCU is now crossing the redline-that the , the future of students. There are 25 government run and 7 private colleges affiliated with the Tripura Central University (TCU) but the university authority has not been able to take the final exam of the college level . As things stand the final college level exam can not be held before November and the results can not be declared before December this year . By this time the scope for admission to the masters degree will be over.

Sources from the university said that the academic session of the university for post-graduate studies begins from July but the final semester exam at the college level has not yet come off . This means that graduate students who will seek admission to the masters course will have to fall back by a year to secure admission in July 2026 because the incompetent and corrupt university authority have so far been able to take exam of the fifth or penultimate semester.

Sources from the TCU said that the Vice Chancellor Ganga Prasad Prasein alone is not responsible for the current messy state of affairs in the university. “He has indulged in nepotism and failed to take action in many cases but the professors of all categories are no less responsible for the mess; having no fear of punitive action such as transfer and departmental proceedings the teachers never perform their assigned duties on time and with due care ; a thorough overhaul and drastic changes in rules are required to put not only the TCU but all the universities back on rail ; every one working in the university must be accountable for their work” sources.

Meanwhile, neither the NSUI, nor the SFI, nor pro-BJP ABVP has come out in protest against this colossal loss for students . There is no move from the student outfits to have set things right in the university , sources added.
