Tipra Motha Doing Drama Over DM Gomati Issue, Former Minister Sudip Roy Barman Slams Political Hypocrisy

Former Minister and senior Congress leader Sudip Roy Barman has strongly criticized Tipra Motha, accusing the party of staging a political drama over the DM Gomati issue. Speaking to reporters, Roy Barman claimed that Tipra Motha is not truly opposing the BJP, but is rather an active partner in power, enjoying the benefits while depriving the very people they claim to represent.

Sudip Roy Barman stated, “This entire protest in front of the DM Gomati office is nothing but a political drama by Tipra Motha. They are trying to mislead the people. The Chief Minister himself has assured to resolve the issue amicably after receiving the inquiry report. In such a situation, there is no justification for creating nuisance or agitation outside the DM office, he said.

He added that the people of Tripura are witnessing a "double standard" in politics. “On one hand, they share power with the BJP at different levels. On the other hand, they are pretending to be opposition on the streets. This is not opposition politics; it’s pure opportunism,” Roy Barman remarked.

He urged the people of Tripura, especially the tribal communities, not to fall into the trap of emotional politics being played by parties that have already compromised their stand by aligning with the ruling regime.

The Congress leader also warned that such politically motivated protests are diverting attention from real issues, and it is time the people ask hard questions of those holding positions in both administration and agitation.

Roy Barman’s statement comes amid ongoing protests by Tipra Motha workers over alleged administrative high-handedness in the Gomati district, a matter that has stirred significant political buzz in the state.
