In light of the ongoing heavy rainfall and worsening flood-like conditions across Agartala and nearby areas, the Tripura Pradesh Youth Congress (TPYC) and NSUI-Tripura have jointly appealed to Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha to postpone the upcoming Diploma Engineering examinations scheduled for June 2 and 4, 2025.

In a written letter submitted today, TPYC leader Md. Sahajan Islam and NSUI representative Amir Hossain cited severe disruptions caused by incessant rainfall, including waterlogging, transportation breakdown, unsafe travel conditions, power outages, and communication issues, all of which have created major obstacles for students preparing for and reaching examination centres.

"Under these distressing circumstances, it is extremely difficult for students to safely and timely appear for their 2nd, 4th, and 6th semester exams," the letter stated. "Postponing the exams would safeguard students’ well-being and allow them to perform to the best of their abilities without undue stress."

The youth leaders urged the state government to act with empathy and prioritize student safety by rescheduling the examinations to a later, more suitable date.

The appeal was officially signed and dated on June 1, 2025, by both youth leaders and submitted to the Chief Minister for urgent consideration.
