Tripura’s Tribal Welfare Minister Bikash Debbarma has announced a transformative initiative aimed at delivering quality education, basic infrastructure, and modern amenities to the most remote and underdeveloped tribal regions of the state. Speaking after a crucial meeting with Bibhun Nair, Secretary of the Union Ministry of Tribal Affairs in New Delhi, Minister Debbarma revealed that several key proposals from Tripura were promptly approved during the session.
A core component of this development mission includes the establishment of 10 modern ashram schools, fully residential institutions of national standards, in deeply remote tribal belts. These schools will ensure not just quality education but also promote better environmental awareness and living standards. New student hostels will also be developed nearby to offer safe and supportive residential facilities so that students can study in a secure and focused environment.
In another major breakthrough, the government will accelerate electrification projects in villages that still lack power. This will enable students to study at night and significantly improve the quality of life for rural communities.
To further integrate these isolated villages into mainstream development, new roads, bridges, and connectivity infrastructure will be constructed, linking them directly to district headquarters and urban centers.
Minister Debbarma emphasized that this four tier development plan focusing on education, electrification, infrastructure, and human development
is not merely a collection of projects but a united journey towards inclusive progress.
