Telengana governor Jishnu Debbarman presides over blood donation camp

The Maharaja Bir Bikram Society today organised a mega blood donation camp in Agartala Press Club in aid of the poor patients requiring blood in hospitals at Agartala. The chief guest in the blood donation camp was former finance minister of the state Jishnu Debbarman who is the incumbent governor of the state of Telengana. Besides, the state’s finance minister Pranjit Singha Roy, Rajya Sabha MP and BJP state president Rajeev Bhattacharjee, social activist Bipin Debbarma and DM (west) Dr Vishal Kumar attended the programme as guests of honour.

More than a hundred people donated blood in the camp. Speaking briefly in the programme Telengana governor Jishnu Debbarman appreciated the organization of the programme and congratulated the Maharaja Bir Bikram Society for their commitment to society. Describing the voluntary blood donation as the greatest contribution to society and people Jishnu Debbarman said that the requirement of blood is so much in hospitals and health centres across the state that without voluntary donation it is almost impossible for the government run health department to cope with the needs and demands of the patients . “ I am happy to see that voluntary blood donation has become a mass movement in Tripura and it should remain a mass movement as it is the best form of social service” said Jishnu Karta.
