Attack on Tripura Government Tourist Facilities in Mizoram Border in Jampui Hills: Tourism Office Vandalized

Tensions flared along the Indo-Bangladesh border in the Jampui Hills area of North Tripura after miscreants attacked a Tourist Facilities near Tripura- Mizoram border inside the Tripura and vandalized a Tourist Facilities and office at Betlingchhip. The attack took place in the Betlingchhip area which is a highest peak of Tripura and a remote hilly areas under Tripura's Kanchanpur subdivision. Eyewitnesses report that a group of Mizoram individuals crossed into the Tripura territory, vandalized the local Tourist office, and then retreated across the Mizoram border.
According to local sources, the incident occurred in the Tripura- Mizoram border region near the TSR outpost, close to the village of Betlingchhip. Miscreants entered the area, vandalized an office of the Tourism Department, and attempted to instill fear among locals. They also looted properties and threatened local people.
Reportedly, these individuals came in trucks and jeeps and infiltrated a nearby village. This is not the first time such an incident has occurred. Earlier, locals had abandoned their homes fearing similar attacks.
After this incident, the local police, TSR and BSF forces have stepped up security measures in the area. Tensions remain high in the region, with local residents demanding strict action to ensure their safety.
The local administration has confirmed that they are investigating the incident, and additional security personnel have been deployed to prevent further escalation.
