'Mystic Plantation Retreat' Tourism Project at Lakshmilunga, near Agartala will be a Milestone in Tripura’s Tourism Growth: DM Vishal Kumar

In a significant step towards boosting eco-tourism in Tripura, the District Magistrate of West Tripura, Dr. Vishal Kumar, IAS, today chaired the Consultancy Monitoring Committee (CMC) meeting for the upcoming “Mystic Plantation Retreat” a Central Government project under the Swadesh Darshan 2.0 scheme of Ministry of Tourism Development.
Held virtually from the District Office, the meeting brought together key stakeholders to deliberate on the proposed tourism destination at Lakshmilunga, near Agartala. The project, titled Mystic Plantation Retreat, is envisioned as a sustainable, nature-based tourism initiative aimed at offering visitors an immersive experience in the region’s rich greenery and cultural heritage.
Dr. Vishal Kumar emphasized the importance of the project, stating during the meeting that, “This initiative is expected to become a milestone in Tripura’s tourism development.” He later reiterated his optimism in a Facebook post, highlighting the project’s potential to redefine tourism standards in the state.
The committee gave careful attention to the technical, financial, and ecological aspects of the project to ensure it aligns with sustainable development goals and enhances the experiential value for tourists.
The Mystic Plantation Retreat is poised to become a key attraction under the Ministry of Tourism’s Swadesh Darshan 2.0 program, which focuses on integrated and theme-based tourism development.
Once implemented, the project is anticipated to attract both domestic and international tourists, offering a unique blend of plantation-based retreat, eco-tourism, and cultural engagement—further cementing Tripura’s place on India’s tourism map.
