Agartala, May 10, 2025
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast light to moderate rainfall and thunderstorms across Tripura over the next few days, due to an upper air cyclonic circulation over Northeast Assam extending up to 3.1 km above sea level. While most of the state remained dry in the past 24 hours, very light rain was noted in North Tripura.
Temperatures have risen, with Agartala recording 37.0°C, above normal, and Kailashahar the lowest at 24.4°C. The IMD predicts no major temperature change until a slight drop later.
From May 10 to 15, thunderstorms and rain are likely at several places. North, Unakoti, Dhalai, and Khowai may face gusty winds (30–50 km/h) on May 12–13. Heavy rainfall may occur in West, Sepahijala, and Gomati districts. Hot and humid conditions will persist. Residents are advised to stay alert for lightning and strong winds and follow safety guidelines.
