Yunus followers hold rally in Dhaka to press for ban on Awami League, media mourning over Indo-Pak conflict

Facing growing public discontent over lawlessness in the country and deteriorating economic situation, the newly formed National Citizens Party (NCP) of Bangladesh , sponsored by Md Yunus and comprising the fundamentalist monsters from the Hizbut Tahrir, Hephazati Islami and the infamous ‘Rajakar’ ridden Jamaat-e-Islami, today organised a protest demonstration in the Jamuna area of Dhaka to press for a ban on ousted Awami League . The demonstration had been preceded by the offering of ‘Jumma Namaz’ on the streets as a show of strength. Advisors to the new interim government, newly married Sarjish Alam and Abu Hasnat Abudullah addressed the gathering of the ‘Momins’ and explained to the faithful audience why banning Awami League is an imperative now. They also issued a mock threat to go for further drastic action unless the demand for ban is fulfilled by the interim government,oblivious to the fact that they themselves made inclusive democracy and universal voting rights their main planks in the July mob movement last year.

Sources from across the border said that reeling under growing lack of popularity because of misrule and initiation of political activism by Awami League-albeit in a sporadic manner- the fundamentalist forces fear that in case the Awami League is allowed to participate in the upcoming election to the national assembly their poll prospects, already insignificant, will become bleaker as the contest will centre round BNP and Awami League. The new Yunus-sponsored NCP is yet to really take off at the grassroot level and the BNP, natural successor to Awami League, is playing its political cards quite judiciously and this will leave the fundamentalist sponsors of the mob uprising in July last year in the cold.

Meanwhile, the faithful Bangladeshi ‘Godi’ media has started lamenting over the ongoing Indo-Pakistan conflict , worrying over the likely fall out on the people (Muslims) of Kashmir. Despite being fully aware of the pummeling Pakistan is being subjected to by Indian military, the online media of Bangladesh has been swallowing the disinformation campaign of the pathological liars of Pakistan. One report quotes the baseless Paki version that two Indian Rafale planes were shot down on May 7 night while another highlights the pitiable falsehood that Indian border states suffered heavy losses and casualties in non-existent Paki attack. “These rotten elements are genetical liars and divinely enjoined to present patent falsehood to cover up the utter failure of the faithful and co-religionists; they are capable of the vilest of crimes sanctioned by their pernicious faith system and its main propagator” said a source from Bangladesh.
