The Tripura Police has issued a public notice urging all landlords and property owners to submit the details of their tenants to the nearest Police Station or Out Post. This move comes after it came to the notice of the police that several criminal elements are taking advantage of anonymity by operating from rented accommodations across the state.
In the notice, the police highlighted that criminals and anti-social elements are exploiting new locations to avoid identification. To counter this, citizens who have rented out any house or premises are requested to submit tenant information using a prescribed form. These forms are available at all Police Stations and Out Posts and can also be downloaded from the official Tripura Police website: www.tripurapolice.nic.in.
The measure is being taken to avoid future legal complications for landlords in case their tenants are found to be involved in any criminal or anti-social activities.
The police have urged full cooperation from the public to ensure safety and law enforcement across the state.
