Mayor Deepak Majumder submitted Rs 476.55 crore budget for the year 2025-26 with a deficit of Rs 72.02 crore

The Mayor of Agartala Municipal Cortporation (AMC) has submitted a budget of Rs 476.55 crore for the year 2025-26 with a deficit of Rs 72.02 crore. The budget projected a captal income of Rs 475.83 crore. Mayor Dipak Majumder submitted the budget and said people-oriented issues got priority in the budget.

He said the budget has been prepared keeping the overall interest of the residents of Agartala and expressed hope that it will ensure comfort for the residents. A significant side of the budget is an allocation of Rs 10 crore for setting up a 50-bed civil hospital. Submitting the budget Mayor said it will ensure a 24-hour Out Patient Department (OPD) and expressed hope that it will substantially improve the health care facility for the residents.

Pointing to the deficit remaining in the budget, he expressed hope that it will be bridged by increasing income and central assistance.
