Santirbazar (South Tripura): In a dramatic turn of events, a man from Birchandra Manu in Santirbazar arranged the marriage of his wife with her lover after discovering their affair. The unusual incident, which took place on Wednesday at Santirbazar under South Tripura district, has sparked widespread discussions on social media and attracted significant media attention.

According to sources, Nayan Saha found out that his wife was involved in a romantic relationship with a young man from the same locality. Reportedly, the woman had accused her husband and mother-in-law of subjecting her to physical and mental abuse. Seeking peace, she befriended the young man, and the friendship soon turned into a love affair.

When the affair became public knowledge, instead of reacting with hostility, Nayan and his family decided to support the couple. They organised a traditional wedding ceremony at a local temple, giving the relationship social recognition.

The newlyweds told the media that their marriage was based on mutual love and consent. Nayan and his family raised no objections and instead facilitated the union, transforming what was once seen as an illicit affair into a socially accepted marriage.

Local residents also expressed support for the couple, saying that everyone has the right to choose their life partner.
