But Vicky’s family had fallen on a serious crisis-ridden days in terms of financial matters as before his death Vicky had drawn a loan of Rs 10 lakh from a nationalized bank by mortgaging his residence . The family was unable to repay the installments of the loan. With Vicky’s death anniversary nearing the people of Usha Bazar as well as members of the Bharat Ratna Sangha had decided to mobilize the entire outstanding loan amount and repay it to save Vicky’s family. Accordingly all the members of the Bharat Ratna Sangha and the people of Usha Bazar area donated amounts to a common fund and the outstanding loan amount with interest was paid up to the bank . The clearance certificate issued by the nationalized bank was then handed over to the wife and family members of Durga Prasanna Deb alias Vicky.
