Dead snake in water supply tap sparks public health concerns

In a shocking incident, a dead snake was found stuck in a water supply tap installed at the house in Karoilang Sishubihar area of Teliamura. As soon as the news spread, locals flocked to the house where the dead snake was recovered inside the main water supply pipe of the house.

The owner of the house said, “In the morning, we noticed some obstruction in the water supply pipe. When my husband pulled the tap out, a dead snake came out of the pipe. When we raised the alarm, locals came and witnessed the whole incident.”

She described that the snake was dead and the carcass was inflated. Stating that they had noticed small fishes and prawns in the supplied water, she said, “We ignored when only small fishes and prawns were found but now this is a snake. We have serious doubts on the water treatment facility installed here. We use this water for all sorts of household works including for Puja as well.”

The locals have demanded an impartial inquiry into the matter and asked the authorities to prioritise proper functioning of the water treatment plant which seems to have been malfunctioning.
