‘Tipura Darman’ completes fifty years, to release archival material on April 17

The state’s popular daily ‘Tripura Darpan’ has completed its fifty years of existence and is now all set to release a six-volume archive containing selected important news, articles and literary materials published in the newspaper over the past fifty years. The commemorative function will come off in the Hall No-1 of Rabindra Shata Varshiki Bhawan on April 17 at 6-00 in the evening.

The commemorative function will have a galaxy of important personalities of the state. While the chief minister Dr Manik Saha will unveil the commemorative archival volume, former chief minister Manik Sarkar will remain as guest of honour along side former chief justice of Orissa high court Subhasish Talapatra and veteran journalist-poet Satyabrata Chakraborty.

The inaugural song of the programme will be presented by famous singer Aratrika Sinha of Calcutta-based Zee Bangla TV channel’s Aratrika Sinha . Sources in the ‘Tripura Darpan’ said that the newpaper had come into being in the year 1974 and completed its fifty years of existence in 2024 under the editorship of Samiran Roy who is also the proprietor of the newspaper. All media and cultural personalities have been invited to attend the programme on the evening of April 17.
