Lady accused of murder attempt to her husband by cutting his throat arrested after hiding for nine months

Police arrested a lady Sabita Rani Nath who had absconding for the last nine months after a failed murder attempt of her husband Nitai Debnath by cutting his throat with the help of her lover Tapash Nama, and three of her brothers. She was arrested from the house of one Satyendra Ghosh at Kalipur in Kailasahar where she was residing with her two children as a tenant. Her lover Tapash Nama and two brothers Promod Nath and Pankaj Nath were arrested earlier while another one Prabir Nath is still absconding.

The episode started on July 4, 2024, when the husband of the lady Nitai Debnath was found with serious cut injuries on his throat and other parts of his body. He was not in a position to speak due to cuts in his throat 46 stitches were given including 11 in his throat. It helped him to speak and Nitai informed him that his wife, her lover, and three of her brothers were involved in the crime.
