The Youth Congress has alleged that the BJP-led state government has abandoned the younger generation and decided to organize a massive statewide agitation demanding the creation of job opportunities for them.
The decision was taken in a meeting of the Youth Congress State Committee held in the Congress Bhawan on Sunday, presided over by the state president, Neel Kamal Saha. All the district block Youth Congress presidents were also present.
'Youth of the state are facing a deep crisis as the ruling party is systematically dragging them into drug addiction', Saha said in a press conference after the meeting. He said corruption and nepotism have gripped the entire society and the ruling party is patronizing such activities.
He said unemployment has become a serious problem in the state as the youths are turning hopeless and the ruling party is utilizing their frustrations. In such a situation the Youth Congress has decided to take the streets and go for a statewide agitation for which a detailed program will be announced soon, he said.
