Patanjali launching palm cultivation in Tripura for production of palm oil, 30 hactres of land acquired

The Patanjali foods, a food processing company led by ‘Yoga Guru’ Ramdeb with nationwide fame, is all set to launch palm oil cultivation in Tripura soon and already the company has acquired 30 hactares of land with co-operation from the state government. The company will also set up a palm nursery with rich plants brought from other states and at a later stage a mill for producing palm oil will also be established here. Besides contributing to the state’s economy the Patajali Food will also create employment opportunities for the state’s youths.
All this was announced in an interaction with the media by the northeastern region chief of the Patanjali foods Ashok Kumar Singh who also attended a workshop on palm cultivation in Tripura in the Hotel Polo Tower. The workshop was attended among others by the state’s agriculture secretary Apurba Roy, agriculture director Phani Bhusan Jamatya , horticulture director Dipak Das and the delegation of Patanjali food Limited, Ashok Kumar Singh, Subhas Bhattacharya and Ayan Sarkar.
Addressing the media Ashok Kumar Singh said that his company will gradually acquire and start production of palam oil over 10 thousand hactres of land in the state. “The climate not only of Tripura but also of entire northeast is highly suitable for palam oil cultivation, so we will go for production on a large scale and very soon we will also set up a centre for training people in the methods and technicalities of palm cultivation” said Ashok Kumar Singh.
