Airport employee killed in Scooty accident on way back home

With road safety measures being a non-starter and traffic surveillance conspicuous by absence beyond the bounds of Agartala city, road mishaps have been continuing without any let-up. An airport employee Sushanta Sarkar who was on his way back home at Narayanpur from his work place around 9-00 PM was pushed hard by a speeding Scooty in Usha Bazar area.

Sushanta fell down on the road, critically injured and was sent to hospital by local people who had witnessed the accident from a distance. A number of colleagues of Sushanta had also reached the spot and had called in the Fire Brigade employees who carried injured Sushanta to hospital. But the doctors in the Usha Bazar hospital declared him ‘brought dead . Sushanta’s premature death in accident has cast a shadow of grief and mourning in the entire Narayanpur and Usha Bazar area. The Scooty that had caused the accident had however managed to flee the spot though a case was later registered with the airport police station.
