Tripura Employees Co-ordination Committee observed 50th anniversary of its historic 'Lagatar Dharmaghat'

The Tripura Employees Co-ordination Committee observed the 50th anniversary of its historic 'Lagatar Dharmaghat' (Continuous Strike), which played a vital role in changing the state's political scenario. The strike started on March 19, 1975, and continued for 19 days in support of their demands, including the Dearness allowance for the employees at the central rate. Chairman of the organization Ranjit Rudrapal presided over the program.

A special program was organized in the office of the Employees Co-ordination Committee where several leaders who participated in the strike were present. They are Bhanulal Saha, Asesh Debroy, Kaushik Deb, Bidyut Bikash Dey, Haran Majumder, Benilal Acharjee, Matilal Sarkar and Jaya Barman.

The leaders discussed the background of the 'Lagatar Dharmaghat' and its impact on the state. They also discussed the role of the Coordination Committee in protecting the rights of the employees in the state. The leaders who participated in the 'Lagatar Dharmghat' were felicitated with mementos.
