The Tripura government is actively considering the formation of the 8th Pay Commission, and a decision will be taken at an appropriate time, Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy announced in the state assembly.
Responding to a question raised by Congress MLA Gopal Chandra Roy during the Question and Answer Session, the minister stated that the central government had already proposed the formation of the commission on January 16. However, no state in India has made a final decision on the matter yet. He assured that Tripura would take an informed decision when the time is right.
The minister also confirmed that the state government had provided all necessary financial details to the Sixteenth Finance Commission, which had praised Tripura’s financial condition. Addressing concerns over the disbursement of dearness allowance (DA), he emphasized that it is being given regularly to government employees and pensioners. Additionally, the state is actively working towards reducing the gap between the DA provided to central government employees and that of state government employees.
