Even as the political slugfest continues unabated on both sides of the Radcliffe line-India and Bangladesh-the life of a dedicated Hindu monk Swami Chinmay Krishna’s life is in danger in consequence of the fast-unto-death he has undertaken in protest against the cruel treatment being meted out to him and also against denial of his due bail . He had launched the fast unto death on March 21 and by now his condition has sharply deteriorated on account of rapidly deteriorating condition of his heart and kidney within his cell in Chittagong jail. Sources from across the border said that the jail authority as well as the pathologically communal monsters running the interim dispensation in Bangladesh are completely apathetic to the condition of Swami Chinmay Krishna and his inexorable march to death.
It was on March 26 that Chinmay Krishna had been picked up by the communal Bangladeshi police from Dhaka airport on charge of sedition on the basis of a fake complaint filed by a third grade BNP man-expelled by his own party since then-and put behind bars. The sedition charge falls flat on the fact that as per Bangladeshi law such charges have to be registered by a governmental agency and secondly the fake charge against Chinmay Krishna rests on the fact that a flag of ‘Sanatani Aikya Jote’ had been sighted fluttering higher than a Bangladeshi national flag side by side .
Sources said that the Chittagong metropolitan court had been forced by fundamentalist Muslim lawyers to deny bail to Chinmay Krishna even though he had water-tight case for bail in terms of existing Bangladeshi law. Worse, Hindu lawyers who had tried to defend Chinmay Krishna and plead for his bail were beaten up severely by the faithful lawyers trying to curry favour with the terrorist-propped regime. The case is now in high court of Bangladesh but has been hanging fire with the government side adopting a dilatory tactics to avoid hearing.”Swami Chinmay Krishna’s cardinal offence is that he had emerged as the voice of the perennially persecuted Hindu minorities in Bangladesh whose basic human rights hold no meaning in the Bangladeshi hellscape; he had addressed two huge Hindu rallies in Chittagong and Rangpur and become the eye-sore of the illegitimate interim regime and now the effort is on to have been murdered in jail” said sources from across the border.
