The Yunus led Bangladeshi minnows illegitimately running the God forsaken country have meekly contradicted the statement of powerful US intelligence chief Tulsi Gabbard’s forthright statement in Delhi yesterday on the continuing persecution of Hindu, Buddhist and Christian minorities in Bangladesh. In an interview with a leading Indian TV channel last night Tulsi had flagged the US government’s ‘deep concern’ over the planned hounding of minorities in Bangladeshi, dropping a hint that her government might at some stage in future consider intervening in the matter. Tulsi’s statement is consonant with the concern expressed by her president Donald Trump in the run-up to the presidential election in November last year over the persecution of Hindu minorities in post-coup Bangladesh since August 5 last year. Apart from electoral considerations Trump also had a score to settle as the usurper Md Yunus who had been thurst upon the country by terrorist and fundamentalist backers as chief advisor had always been close to Republican Trump’s rival the Democratic party and Joe Biden’s lame-duck presidency. In fact Yunus had contributed a considerable amount of money to the Clinton Foundation from the huge amount he had siphoned off the foreign aid received by Bangladesh Gramin Bank.
Be that as it may, a funerary silence descended on Bangladesh following Tulsi Gabbard’s statement made last night and a number of fundamentalist leading lights timidly bemoaned the exaggeration in her statement. “Although there are some isolated incidents, the persecution of minorities in Bangladesh is not at the level that some foreigners claim”, Religious Affairs Adviser Dr AFM Khalid Hossain has said.Khalid made the statement in response to a question from journalists during a press conference on Umrah visa complications at the Secretariat on Tuesday.
Regarding US national intelligence chief Tulsi Gabbard’s statement expressing concern over the persecution of minorities in Bangladesh, the adviser said: "This has come to the knowledge of our government. We have repeatedly denied that the persecution of minorities in our country is at the level that foreigners claim. There are some isolated incidents, but we remain highly vigilant. Attacks and vandalism are also happening at some shrines. We are taking this very seriously and drawing the attention of law enforcement agencies." The advisor asserted that the security forces are under strict instruction to nab culprits involved in crimes by monitoring CCTV footage, adding that the government is alert to the possibility and actual commission of crimes. Sources from across the border said that the incumbent interim regime is unnerved by the powerful US intelligence chief’s statement but is unlikely to be able to rein in the genie they unleashed from the bottle.
