In a major decision, the Tripura government has withdrawn the Finance Department's memorandum regarding the publication of tender notices to newspaper. Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy confirmed the decision to tripurainfo.com tonight, stating that the controversial memorandum was issued based on a circular derived from a central government notification.

"We have decided to withdraw the memorandum to address concerns and ensure a fair and transparent tendering process. The state government remains committed to maintaining clarity and accessibility in all procurement matters," the minister told tripurainfo.com.

The withdrawn memorandum had mandated the publication of Notice Inviting Tenders (NIT), Requests for Proposal (RFP), and Expressions of Interest (EOI) exclusively on government portals, moving away from traditional newspaper advertisements. However, concerns were raised about its impact on accessibility for all stakeholders.

With this decision, the state government aims to strike a balance between modernizing procurement practices and ensuring wider accessibility of tender notifications. Minister Pranjit Singha Ray clarifyed that' the tender will be displayed on various media platforms as per earlier process.
