Barring a few minor incidents, polling in the West Tripura Lok Sabha seat was peaceful, vote percentage may go above 84 percent: Dr Vishal Kumar

Barring some minor incidents, the Lok Sabha polls in West Tripura were completely peaceful. 1-Tripura West PC (DM & Collector West Tripura) Dr. Vishal Kumar claimed in a press conference tonight. According to his claim, a total of sixteen and seventeen complaints came to his notice regarding the West Tripura Lok Sabha seat today, including six written complaints, telephone calls and through Facebook and x handles ( Twitter). And every complaint is investigated and appropriate action is taken.

Dr. Vishal Kumar said that in this year's Lok Sabha elections, there has been less incidents in West Tripura's Lok Sabha seat than the 2019 Lok Sabha polls. Complaints have also come less.

Dr Vishal Kumar said legal action has been taken against several poll workers including a presiding officer for dereliction of duty. However, claiming that most of the complaints of the opposition parties were false, he said that as many complaints have been made factually correct, appropriate steps have been taken after investigating the incident.

Asserting that the Lok Sabha polls in West Tripura were completely peaceful, he said the overall situation was never out of control. Police and central security forces were adequate. He said that in 2019 West Tripura Lok Sabha seat polling was like 82 percent. This time it will be more than 84 percent, he said.
