Tripura’s chess prodigy Arshiya Das wins gold medal in Blitz section of Commonwealth chess

In a momentous event of pride and glory for Tripura and its people , the state’s chess prodigy Arshiya Das has won the prestigious gold medal in the highly competitive Blitz section of Commonwealth Chess Championship (under-14 category) held in Sri Lanka. Arshiya had earlier taken part in and won laurels in the lower age group category of world chess championship held in Spain and then won medals in the Asian school chess championship held in Ujbekistan. But the gold medal won in the keenly competitive Commonwealth championship is one of Arshiya’s greatest achievements .
The chief minister Dr Manik Saha has conveyed his congratulations to Arshiya on her grand success and descried this as a matter of pride for the people and the state of Tripura. He has also conveyed his best wishes to Arshiya and expressed the hope that she will bring more laurels for the country in future.
