Panchayat polls: BJP activated campaign machinery, candidates visiting door-to-door

The ruling BJP has won 71 percent seats of Panchayat uncontested but the party is not ready to remain complacent and already activated its campaign machinery to ensure all the remaining seats for which the election is going to be held on August 8. State President of the party Rajib Bhattacharjee has taken the initial lead in campaigning while all the ministers, MLAs, and Karyakartas of different levels are participating. It is learned that the Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha who is the face of the party in the election will address a series of meetings across the state in the coming days.
The party has already held district and Mandal level meetings of the Karyakartas and instructions have been given to all concerned to leave no stone unturned to ensure the victory in all the panchayats. Accordingly, the local leaders have started a mass contact campaign and visited all the houses. Candidates also started door-to-door campaigns and also organizing public meetings.
It may be recalled that the BJP candidates have already won 71 percent of panchayat seats and more than fifty percent of Panchayat Samity seats uncontested. However, the election is going to be held for most of the Zilla Parishad seats.
