Despite heavy flood, the number of durga puja is going to be increased this time compared to last year.   This time the nuber of community Durga Puja may cross 900 which ws 889 last year. District Magistrate Dr Vishal Kumar and the Superintendent of Police (West) Kiran Kumar K have informed in a joint press conference held here on Sunday.

They said the administration has taken all possible steps to ensure a peaceful festival. In order to maintain law and order the state administration has decided to install 30 additional CCTV in different parts of the city. A total of 25 drop gates will be installed in different places to regulate movement of visitors and 60 Police Assistance Booth will be there to extend all kind of help to the people.

Two top district officials said the administration has taken a strong views about forceful collection of subscriptions and has already cancelled the permission for holding puja by Udichi Club at Shibnagar. The step was taken following allegation of forceful collection of subscription.
