Operation Sindoor to redefine the geopolitics of counterterrorism

Though the seeds of democracy were sown in ancient Greek and Indian Panchayats systems, the modern democracy, freedom and liberty, however, developed between the late seventeen and eighteenth century and matured with the American (during April 1775 to September 1783) and French revolutions (during May 1789 to November 1799). Thereafter, gradually the idea of democracy and free world evolved was adopted by the world by and large. But the human desire to usurp power and control over other societies due to expansionist mindset and economic interests ultimately gave rise to colonialism during last two centuries which though ended in most parts of the world after the Second World War ended in 1945; still aggressively yet in a subtle manner manifests itself in the form of neo-colonialism by controlling the weak and meek nations through indirect methods like, proxy rulers (the recent example is Bangladesh where both the China and America for different reasons engineered a false narrative against Sheikh Hasina government in August 2024 and installed a puppet government led by Muhammad Yunus); economic and resources exploitation, political and cultural domination etc.  India was a victim of foreign rule for more than 800 years, first by Muslims for 600 years and then for 200 years by the British. The foreign powers enjoyed the rule due to the fissiparous/treacherous tendencies among the rulers and by exploiting the fault lines in Indian society. Indian must however, give some credit to British for giving a political unity as a nation to Bharat though before departing in 1947 divided the country and created a vassal state to cater for western interests.

As the game of rule changed after the Second World War and due to the Indian Freedom Movement led by Mahatma Gandhi and other leaders and decidedly bolstered by the Subhash Chandra Bose, Chandrasekhar Azad and Bhagat Singh and his friend revolutionaries ultimately not only brought freedom from alien rule in India but elsewhere in the entire world. Martin Luther King of America was greatly influenced by the philosophy of Mahatma Gandhi. As stated above, the neo-colonialism is still persisting in varying degree in the entire world creating great turmoil, exploitation, instability and pushing the world to inequality. Till full freedom and equality among the nations of the world is achieved the talk of free world is just a glib and vacuous talk. The powerful victorious nations created an unequal United Nation framework and, the way global negotiations are being carried out since its creation and the way countries are fighting war with each other and within their own countries the future of modern democracy and free world is in itself is in danger with the massive stock pile of nuclear arms with a few countries including rouge state like Pakistan and the way politics is being played by the America, Europe and China, there is little hope for a just and peaceful free world.

If we assess for a moment the role played by agencies like United Nations (UN) and its subsidiaries during last 75 years in global affairs in bringing peace and prosperity and equity in the world, we come to unequivocal conclusion that UN not only failed miserably but also created worst over hegemony of a few countries leading to killing of thousands of people all over the world and destabilizing the economy and hitting at the nature causing climatic changes, loot of resources and bio-diversity with irrevocable consequences.

So long new powers that subscribe to a multi-polar, just, and equal world do not emerge, the larger interests of human race on the earth will remain unfulfilled. India today after suffering for long has now ultimately poised to occupy this slot after the clear decisive victory of three and half days ‘Operation Sindoor’ launched after the ghastly 22nd April killings of pilgrims in Pahaelgaon in Jammu and Kashmir by Pakistani sponsored terrorists.  Had it not been the tricks of untrustworthy and perfidious so called ally of India in Asia- Pacific intervening on behalf of its errand child, the United States of America, the Indian forces would have inflicted so lethal a blow to Pakistan’s military from which it would have taken another 50 years to overcome. However, it is also a fact that today’s time is not of wars but peace and development in the midst of climate change and water and food insecurity, the ceasefire after giving a deadly blow to Pakistan is a correct decision though. India has already suspended the Indus water treaty a master stroke of diplomacy till Pakistan ends its doctrine of terrorism as its official policy. Pakistan already is losing control over the Baluchistan and facing serious threat in Khaiber Pukhtun and Sind Provinces.

Indian self sufficiency in defence and development of indigenous war and missiles like BrahMos supersonic cruise missile, Sukhoi-30 MKI jets, Akash and Barak-8 missile systems, and the formidable Russian-made S-400 air defence, and Sky Striker drones co- developed by Adani group’s Alpha Design Technology and Israel’s Elbit systems had shown the world with its  integrated ‘Akashteer’ Air Defence System  that India has the capability to strike with absolute precision and thus emerged as a prominent leader of free world. India has the capacity to redefine the value system of the free and democratic world. The stepping up of defence this year is an indication that India is moving on right path. In this regards the recent statement by our foreign Minister Dr S Jaishankar directing at European Union that India does not need preachers but genuine partners is a very forthright view of what India expect now from countries.

Indians must have taken note of the evaporations of the idea that after Donald Trump’s winning the American Presidency the “American Deep State” days have ended. The recent speeches of President Trump who is finding great virtues in Pakistan and visit of Trump Junior with Thomas Beach soon after his take over to Pakistan and Bangladesh for investment and support and, the International Monetary Fund’s bailing out of Pakistan with 2 billion loans (which most likely be used by the Army to re-organize itself after operation Sindoor). What is most brazen is the 304 million dollar missile deal with Turkey which has been openly supporting Pakistan military with equipments and their operators. These missiles may be used against India by Pakistan. The reason is quite clear America will never like a strong India but want a strong Pakistan to counter balance India like it want India as a counter to China’s rising in Asia Pacific. In fact India and China are the two ancient civilizations must come together but China’s expansionist design and lopsided relations with Pakistan to check mate India are preventing a strong triumvirate to emerge with Russia, India and China. Unless China realizes its folly India has only Russia as a reliable ally and we must built it further. The S-400 decision despite US threat was an example how India Russia can change the world order. 1180 words
