East Tripura (ST) LS polls tomorrow, security tightened , all arrangements made

Altogether 13,96,761 strong electorate are all set to cast their votes tomrorrow in 1365 polling stations spread across the East Tripura (ST) Loksabha constituency tomorrow. The polling will commence at 7-00 in the morning and will continue till 5-00 in the evening. There are altogether thirty assembly segments under the constituency and there are 61 model polling stations, 67 women police stations, 30 polling stations for physically handicapped and 30 for youths. As many as 14 out of 30 assembly segments comprising the East Tripura (ST) LS seat are reserved for tribals .

Sources in the election department said that security has been tightened all over the constituency by deployment of central and state paramilitary forces and the polling staff have reached their respective polling stations. Even though there are nine candidates for the election , seven of them are inconsequential . The main contest will be between Rajendra Reang of opposition CPI (M) and Kriti Debi Debbarman of the BJP who are the leading contenders .
